Married with three sons, Jonathan Corfield has lived in the Stoke Bishop area of Bristol for the last 26 years. He graduated from Bristol University and after qualifying as a solicitor in 1980, was a partner with Robert Smith & Co until merging with city centre firm Burroughs Day in 1988, where he was an equity partner until leaving in 2008. “ My friend and senior colleague for many years announced his intention to retire and with my name one place from the top of the notepaper, I decided to leave the city centre way of working behind and work in a way that gives me more time for clients, personally seeing a matter through from start to finish. The result is my own practice Corfield Solicitors in Sneyd Park, providing a local community based service”.
Jonathan’s expertise is wide ranging in the non-litigation field. For many years he handled the firm's Probate matters and latterly also specialised in both Commercial and Residential Property. He is a member of the Law Society, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and Solicitors for the Elderly. “I have always worked in the Private Client sector of the business, the general day to day tasks that a client would expect their solicitor to deal with. I spent several years heading up Burroughs Day’s Portishead office, which nurtured my desire for my own locally based practice”.
